Tag is tagged again…More comments on this school children’s issue.

The news is once again on this playground issue of tag.  More schools relieving the children of active playful games known to many.  With the rising epidemic of childhood obesity, diabetes, allergies, ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety and with the great usage of psychostimulants and psychopharma-modifiers in children, one might think that fresh air, exercise, and playground interaction would be a positive routine.  But, again, my belief is that an accidental injury is another's financial gain through the limitless tort actions, and attempts to obtain financial gain from such incidents.  This type of thinking is harming our children.  What can you do today to infuse some commonsense into the role models of the schools regarding these issues.  Be active.  Help the kids. These ideas, though politically correct and possibly legally proper, are toxins and poisons to our children's minds, bodies, and spirts.

Managua Recently I heard a report that one school in Washington state eliminated "tag" from the school playground…other schools have done so also, I understand and….meanwhile maybe played with supervision…who? Teachers, parents, playground monitors…adults…all the eyes watching the children gain weight, offer judgement on kid issues, and seeing increasing unhealthy children in the Nation……….tag you're it…..walk johnny, don't run…walk johnny, take this drug for your hyperactivity, walk johnny and we'll get some fast food…..walk johnny….johnny can only walk….tag the disease

meth abuse: stuff, pack, or parachute

Methamphetamine, the illegal and illicit drug, as well as cocaine, heroin, and others drugs have been tried in many deadly ways:

http://circleplastics.co.uk/tel:01279451014 Body Stuffer:  eats a wrapped amount of drug quickly, usually to evade law authorities

Body Packer:  eats carefully wrapped amounts of drugs in multiple packets to carry or be the "mule" – items such as aluminum foil packets, baggies, condoms – all loaded with drugs.  Packers may eat these, surgically embed packets, or place them rectally to transport, known as "keistered."

The "parachute" technique involves ingesting an amount of illicit drug in a wrapper, that with time, slowly unwraps, or unravels to release its poison in a "slower" or "controlled" fashion.

OF COURSE, BODYPACKERS, BODYSTUFFERS, AND BODYPARACHUTERS ALL HAVE SIGNIFICANT RISK FOR SUDDEN BURSTS OF DRUG OR POISON BEING RELEASED, THEREBY CAUSING SIGNIFICANT TOXICITY AND DEATH.

METH ABUSE – PREVENTION – ADOLESCENTS *mighty meth mites or mighty mites*

In a recent study, sixth and seventh graders that were allowed to participate in a family program of life skills showed significant reductions in use of methamphetamine.  The participants were followed for over 4 and 5 years; in two different controlled prevention studies.  Certainly, as with the D.A.R.E. Program put on by Police Departments and schools nationwide, these type of studies do provide hope in the prevention of meth abuse at early ages.  Moreso, the discussion of drug abuse in the young school aged child with families and with experts can only help nationwide.  The epidemic of meth abuse leads to broken families, broken humans, broken finances, and broken minds in our young children.  Certainly more work must be done in these areas of poisonous and toxic destruction of the human spirit and can only benefit the condition of our human enigma.

SMOKIN’ GRASS

Smokin’ Grass ©

In the sixties, the news show ran,
the worries of the five leaf ban.

Continued offensives against those drugs,
new czars against those dealin’ thugs.

Through the decades this fight continues,
when the use of grass heard less boos.

Medical use of the grass yelled loud,
but legislation remained so fouled.

Years later with new direction,
comment on grass, a new connection.

Disease, illness, and lack of caring,
for the abusive rack of financial snaring.

Burn the grass, smoke in air,
financial reward with no care.

Patients suffer, kids in house,
asthma, bronchitis, like caged mouse.

Cough, cough, cough …go inside,
play later, no recess, red flag day beside.

Gramma the mail is here,
but it’s old, with field burning so near.

School shut down,
fairground without clown.

Grass fields burn with disease aglow,
airways stiff, mucus choked airflow.

Smokin’ grass – will it help the pain,
remember smokin’ grass – and who’s dollar gain.

SMOKE SMOKE SMOKE – IDAHO LIVING 2006 – CDA – poisoning opinion

Recent reading verified local doctors are seeing greatly more patients with lung ailments, breathing disorders, and exaccerbations of their stable breathing diseases.  Lung specialists, allergists, and other doctors are busy with these suffering patients.

Many acreas, in the thousands, are burned by the grassfarmers and owners of leased land.  Many more acreas of forest lands are burning.

Why should the practice continue of grass-field burning?   It remains an toxic enigma and the politicians should be ashamed of themselves to allow such abuse of clean air, clean breathing, and should apologize to all the patients that have been harmed, suffered, and felt their financial burdens grow because so few are protected by unbalanced laws.

Which politician will lead those patients to a safer right to breath?   Isn't it time for change?

hunter risk and west nile or bird flu

Recently Nick asked some great hunting questions.  Here is my researched answer to your question.  This is on West Nile Virus and Bird Flu….Thanks for the question  * Dr.  Jim Winter  www.castmd.com

West Nile Virus

Q. Can you get WNV from eating game birds or animals that have been infected?
A.
There is no evidence that WNV virus can be transmitted to humans through consuming infected birds or animals. In keeping with overall public health practice, and due to the risk of known food-borne pathogens, people should always follow procedures for fully cooking meat from either birds or mammals.

Bird Flu Virus

Since 2003, a growing number of human H5N1 cases have been reported in Azerbaijan, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam. More than half of the people infected with the H5N1 virus have died. Most of these cases are all believed to have been caused by exposure to infected poultry. There has been no sustained human-to-human transmission of the disease, but the concern is that H5N1 will evolve into a virus capable of human-to-human transmission.

Human Infection with Avian Influenza Viruses

“Human influenza virus” usually refers to those subtypes that spread widely among humans. There are only three known A subtypes of influenza viruses (H1N1, H1N2, and H3N2) currently circulating among humans. It is likely that some genetic parts of current human influenza A viruses originally came from birds. Influenza A viruses are constantly changing, and other strains might adapt over time to infect and spread among humans. The risk from avian influenza is generally low to most people, because the viruses do not usually infect humans. H5N1 is one of the few avian influenza viruses to have crossed the species barrier to infect humans, and it is the most deadly of those that have crossed the barrier.

Most cases of H5N1 influenza infection in humans have resulted from contact with infected poultry (e.g., domesticated chicken, ducks, and turkeys) or surfaces contaminated with secretion/excretions from infected birds. So far, the spread of H5N1 virus from person to person has been limited and has not continued beyond one person. Nonetheless, because all influenza viruses have the ability to change, scientists are concerned that H5N1 virus one day could be able to infect humans and spread easily from one person to another.

In the current outbreaks in Asia, Europe, and Africa, more than half of those infected with the H5N1 virus have died. Most cases have occurred in previously healthy children and young adults. However, it is possible that the only cases currently being reported are those in the most severely ill people, and that the full range of illness caused by the H5N1 virus has not yet been defined. Symptoms of avian influenza in humans have ranged from typical human influenza-like symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, sore throat, and muscle aches) to eye infections, pneumonia, severe respiratory diseases (such as acute respiratory distress), and other severe and life-threatening complications. The symptoms of avian influenza may depend on which virus caused the infection. Because these viruses do not commonly infect humans, there is little or no immune protection against them in the human population. If H5N1 virus were to gain the capacity to spread easily from person to person, a pandemic (worldwide outbreak of disease) could begin. No one can predict when a pandemic might occur. However, experts from around the world are watching the H5N1 situation very closely and are preparing for the possibility that the virus may begin to spread more easily and widely from person to person.
For the most current information about avian influenza and cumulative case numbers, see the map on this site’s home page.

ACETAMINOPHEN OD & LIVER POISONING – DEATHS – TOXIC

ACETAMINOPHEN OVERDOSE AND LIVER TOXICITY

  • Over 100,000 cases of overdose from acetaminophen occur yearly in the U.S.
  • 56,000 emergency rooms visits are estimated.
  • 10 grams of drug in an acute setting, one time dose, can create liver injury.
  • Much less drug with alcohol, alcohol abuse, malnutrition, fasting can cause liver injury.
  • Antidote therapy can work, if started early; however, diagnosis is difficult many times.
  • Should it be banned?  Did the FDA reveal this drug’s potential for disaster?

SMOKING & 2ND HAND SMOKE = MORE OBESITY? CONFLICTS !

RECENTLY, I READ ABOUT THE CAUSES OF OBESITY AND IT'S INCREASED RISKS OF HEART ATTACK, STROKE, DIABETES, JOINT PROBLEMS – FROM A RENOWN JOURNAL:

SLEEP DEPRIVATION, POLLUTION AND CHEMICALS, UNNATURAL HEATING/AC, ANTIDEPRESSANTS, AGING POPULATION, OLDER CHILDBEARING WOMEN, HEAVIER OPPOSITES ATTRACTING, AND OF COURSE, DECREASED SMOKING RATES ……..AND THAT IS THE RUB……..

RECENTLY, OF COURSE WE SAW THE SURGEON GENERAL DECLARE WAR ON THE "SECOND-HAND SMOKE" ISSUE SAYING IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD, NOT JUST AN INCONVENIENCE OR NUISANCE.  OF COURSE THIS "INVOLUNTARY SMOKING" AS SOME HAVE COINED IT, CREATES ALL SORTS OF QUESTIONS REGARDING HEALTH IN GENERAL FOR THE INDIVIDUAL AND OTHERS………BILL OF RIGHTS ?

SUGGESTIONS INCLUDE GENERALLY:

USE SMOKE FREE AREAS SUCH RESTAURANTS, BUSINESSES

AVOID HAVING YOUR CHILDREN IN A SMOKE EXPOSED ENVIRONMENT

DO NOT SMOKE AROUND SICK PERSONS

HAVE EMPLOYEE-ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AND SMOKER AREAS

SO, THERE YOU HAVE IT………LESS SMOKING…..MORE OBESITY……..

AND IN AREAS WHERE GRASS FIELDS, FRUIT FIELDS, AND OTHER AGRICULTURAL BURNING OR SMOKE MODALITIES ARE USED……..REMEMBER….

A SMOKEY APPLE A DAY WILL KEEP THE WEIGHT AWAY-BUT NOT NECESSARILY THE DOC !
